History On a day in late February 1898 Mr and Mrs Malcolm and Forrestina Ross and Mr A.R. Lowe left Wellington to climb the mountains of Tongariro National Park. Lowe, who was the Assistant Secretary of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, had also in his care 5000 rainbow trout fry from the society's Masterton hatchery. |
