Covid 19 Policy

Kia ora

The new "COVID-19 "Traffic Light System" came into effect on 3rd December 2021, The Tongariro National Trout Centre would like to take this opportunity to outline, how as an organisation, we will be operating at the Trout Centre.

 Our position

The wellbeing and health and safety of our Visitors, Staff, Volunteers and Contractors who visit the Centre is always paramount and, as an organisation, we have a crucial role to play in slowing the spread of COVID-19 within New Zealand.

In accordance with the Ministry of Health's advice and the Government Legislation in response to the pandemic, the TNTC fully supports COVID-19 vaccinations and believes it is New Zealand's key tool in protecting our staff and visitors in minimising the spread of COVID-19.

To help us minimise the risk of COVID-19 being transmitted in the Tongariro National Trout Centre, we are introducing our COVID-19 Response Policy and Covid-19 Staff Policy, which requires anyone working in or visiting the Centre and surrounding area, to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. As some of the areas surrounding the Trout Centre is Public (Department of Conservation) this policy does not affect these areas. The different areas are clearly defined by either signs or barriers.

This policy came into effect on Friday 10th December 2021.

 When you visit us

When you arrive at our office, you:

  1. Will be asked to show your “My Vaccine Pass” or
  2. We will scan your “My Vaccine Pass”
  3. You will also be asked to scan our "QR code" using your "COVID-19 Tracer App"

We respect that some of you may not be vaccinated and or do not wish to share your vaccination status with us, however we ask you to respect our position as entry to the Tongariro National Trout Centre will be refused.

Provision has also been made in the Policy for those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons. In this case, please click on the link to the Policy for details
