SWMBO's favourite story from the school holidays. Bailey White (15 years old who suffers from asperges) arrived with his "Case Manager" Matthew Ryland, to attend the Tongariro Trout Centre lessons, before being let loose on the Tongariro River. It is difficult to convey in a few words his enthusiasm for trout fishing - something he has always wanted to do at the top of his bucket list. He would have fished all night if he had been allowed. At the Trout Centre he was coached by Doug Stevens who rewarded him with a box of flies. Then on the river in a more natural wild river environment, he patiently applied what he had learnt about casting and achieving a natural drift, etc. He met a local angler, Chris, who also volunteered to guide him to hook and land two more. Needless to say, Bailey is over the moon. Wonderful to see. Many thanks to Doug & Chris for helping
